The Bayview & York Mills neighbourhood was fully developed by the 1960’s. This beautiful, family oriented neighbourhood straddles the ever-busy Bayview Avenue and, being South of Highway 401, is a great convenience when travelling to other parts of the city as well as cottage country to the North.
Large, expansive properties have two and three storey stately homes though some really lovely, sprawling bungalows still exist as well.
York Mills Plaza is a popular centre point in the area as is the larger Bayview Village to the North. The Bayview & York Mills neighbourhood also includes one of the best junior high schools in our city: St. Andrews.
Bayview Village
In Willowdale, the Bayview Village Shopping Centre at Bayview & Sheppard is a wonderful place to congregate. Just opposite the YMCA, it has many restaurants, Loblaw’s Supercentre and lovely stores. The area has also seen a surge in the surrounding condominium developments.
York Mills
A fabulous and vast neighbourhood from Yonge Street to Leslie Street through Windfields and from just South of Yorkville upwards to Highway 401, this is another popular area for Toronto’s well heeled families. Including The York Mills Centre, it has everything from shops and boutiques to doctors’ and dentists’ offices. York Mills Park is another wonderful draw with abundant sports programming and amenities.
